Once you’ve enrolled in our MyRetiree Plan, you may wish to make some changes to your general health benefits (Extended Health Care, Vision, and Dental Care), including adding or removing a dependant and changing your Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage. All changes must be made using the MyRetiree Plan Change Application.
If you choose one of the Enhanced plans (including Dental Care Enhanced Option 1 or Option 2), you must maintain a minimum level of Single coverage for one year before choosing the Core plan; however, you can increase from Core to Enhanced at any time. Switching between Enhanced Dental options also requires a one-year commitment.
If you cancel your EHC plan before your one-year commitment ends, reapplication will only be permitted after one year from the cancellation date. You can reapply within the one-year period if you provide proof that your coverage with another provider has ended.
You can change your Life and AD&D coverage from 2x your pre-retirement salary to a flat $25,000 rate at any time. Once you change to the flat rate option, you cannot upgrade back to 2x your pre-retirement salary.
If you choose to reduce your Life and AD&D insurance to the flat $25,000 rate, you have the option to convert the difference between the higher plan and the flat rate insurance to an individual policy with Canada Life Assurance Company (Canada Life). You must apply within 31 days of your coverage changing to avoid having to provide medical evidence of insurability; however, providing evidence of good health may help reduce your premium. Contact ASEBP at benefits@asebp.ca or 1-877-431-4786 for more information on Life and AD&D insurance conversion.

COVID-19 vaccine coverage is available under many ASEBP benefit plans, but details can differ. Read the step-by-step guide to help you check your coverage and walk you through the process of accessing your COVID-19 vaccine.
